Beth Bathe

Beth Bathe is a Pennsylvania-based plein air painter and former graphic designer whose atmospheric oil paintings capture the beauty and quiet nostalgia of the “vanishing landscape,” from weathered barns and old mills to back alleys and country roads. Working primarily on location, Beth uses Cobra Water Mixable Oil Colors in thin, transparent washes with unconventional tools such as squeegees and cotton swabs, creating work that often blurs the line between watercolor and oil painting. A featured artist in Plein Air Magazine and participant in major competitions across the United States, Beth is especially proud to serve as an Art Ambassador for Royal Talens North America. She is also a faculty member for the Plein Air Convention & Expo and teaches workshops through her studio, Short Dog Studio, and at locations nationwide.
